My last training update outlined my training for both an obstacle race and cyclocross races as part of series. Well, after finishing the obstacle race I was planning on focusing solely on cyclocross leading up to the Cross Crusade cyclocross race (I decided to do just the local race in Bend and not the entire series which is mostly in Portland). But as always I got an awesome opportunity to do a race I just couldn't turn down. This was a 25k (15.5 miles) trail run in the coastal Oregon mountains. I realized I wasn't going to do much as far as imporving my running speed in the short amount I had but, I mangaed to structre in some solid runs before the race.

TRAINING LENGTH: October 5th- November 2nd (4 weeks)

GOALS:

  • Run as much as I safely can before the 25k trail run

  • Improve Cyclocross eundurance

  • Finish the season injury free

  • Conduct 2 longer/hike run a week.

  • Conduct 1 hill sprint run workout a week.

  • Conduct 1 easy run a week.

  • Conduct 2-3 cross rides focusing on technique and short bursts.

Monday: 20-30min Running Hill Sprints
